Shane's next big feature film project confirmed... plus more Le Donk stuff!

FORUM news hound Lee2112 has discovered confirmation of Shane's next big film project on the Empire website. The film is to be called "Beware the Devil" and is a true account of one man's attempt to discredit the world of the ouija board.
Shane provides more details in the Empire article:
“It’s based on a book of the same name, based on the life of a guy who, by getting involved with ouija boards and the occult by trying to disprove it, trying to take the piss out of it, got possessed, had to be exorcised, and later became an exorcist himself..."
For the full article, visit the Empire website HERE in which Shane also reveals he is very likely to make another 5 Day Feature about Le Donk before moving onto the Beware of the Devil feature!

The Le Donk stuff keeps on coming too!

There will be a special screening of Le Donk & Scor-Zay-Zee at the Latitude festival on Saturday the 18th of July. Not only that, but it will be followed by a Q&A with Shane and Paddy Considine.
You can read more and buy tickets via the Latitude website HERE
Thanks to Chromebaby for discovering this!

Another positive review, this time from Variety which you can read HERE
Thanks to Davros for finding that.

Finally, we have a nice new image of the Le Donk & Scor-Zay-Zee poster courtesy of Paddy Considine and Gareth who runs Paddy's site. You can check the splendid image out on the FORUM HERE

More Le Donk & Scor-Zay-Zee coverage!

Thanks to Chromebaby on the FORUM we have a brilliant close up photo of the Le Donk & Scor-Zay-Zee film poster which was made for the Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF).
It is possible that the design may change slightly before the intended small scale theatrical release and DVD... not least because Scor-Zay-Zee's name is spelt incorrectly!

Click the image for a nice big version!

Over on the EIFF website, a trio of very entertaining videos have appeared which reveal some interesting 'issues' between Le Donk and Shane before and after the film's premiere. Not only that, but we get a rather splendid rap from Scor-Zay-Zee from the back of a pink limousine! Click the links below to see the videos on the EIFF website:

PART THREE

Finally, Gareth who runs paddyconsidine.co.uk found another great article. It's a hugely abridged look at the Five Day Features Q&A that Shane and Mark Herbert held the day after the film premiere at the EIFF on the Guradian website HERE

This includes, Le Donk, The Gavin Clark and Thailand documentaries, King of the Gypsies, and the This Is England TV series. Not to mention his next feature length project, which, by all accounts has the potential to be the scariest film ever, but other than that little tease, the project is currently filed under "TOP SECRET".

Shane's shortest short now back online... plus award for Tomo!

Back in 2005, Shane made a short film to promote the Nokia Shorts film competition.
The competition involved making a short film of only 15 seconds duration, and was designed to encourage the development of material geared specifically for viewing on mobile phones. Shane took the concept one step further, by shooting his 15 second film on a mobile phone.
The result was The Stairwell, a film which has long been lost to the darkest depths of the internet. But now, Shane has kindly made The Stairwell available once again. So sit back and wallow in the lost 15 second classic.... starring Andrew Shim and Vicky McClure.

Huge thanks to Shane for putting the film back online.

The Critics Circle Film Awards took place last Wednesday, and Thomas Turgoose took home the award for Best Young Performer for his performance in Somers Town.
You can catch a brief glimpse of Tomo at the awards ceremony in the first minute of the Guardian.co.uk backstage video HERE.
Thanks to PointBlank on the forum for letting us know about this.

To celebrate the release of Somers Town on DVD and Blu-Ray this coming Monday (12th of January), Shane will be meeting fans and signing Somers Town DVDs (and Blu-Rays if you're posh) at the Listergate HMV store in Nottingham.. This will takeplace from 2pm on Monday the 12th of January.
Thanks to Sammo on the FORUM for pointing this out!

Bad news on the King of the Gypsies front.
Written by Shane and Paddy Considine, Shane's next feature film project is a bio-pic of bare-knuckle boxer Bartley Gorman.. However, due to unspecified legal issues, the pre-production on the film is currently at a stand-still.
Fingers crossed that whatever the issue may be, it gets sorted out sooner rather than later!

HO HO HO... IT'S A COUPLE OF EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENTS!

What's this? An image of the This Is England DVD with a piece of virtual holly stuck to it?
YES!
Does this mean a free copy for everyone who visits the site?
NO... It's better than that!
At long last, the This Is England fan commentary is completed, and shanemeadows.co.uk is happy to pop a copy into your stockings as an early Christmas present!
Armed with this fan commentary (and your copy of the This Is England DVD), you will be able to keep the whole family bemused during those many boring hours over the yule period! Hoorah!
This fan commentary is a collaborative effort in which 19 members of the FORUM each provided commentary for a different five minute section of the film. Each of the sections were then compiled into one full-length, MP3 commentary track which you can play as you watch the DVD. By doing this, you get the effect of hearing a new DVD commentary track made by the fans for the fans!
To get hold of the MP3 file and for more detailed information / instructions, head on over to the new Fan Commentary thread in the FORUM by clicking HERE.

"But where's my second gift?" I hear you cry.
Well, Nick Hemming of the band The Leisure Society, is very kindly giving you a free MP3 of the previously unavailable track, Monkey Hair Hide, which features in Dead Man's Shoes.
Grab this MP3 while you can, because it will be available for a limited time only!
You can download the track by right-clicking the following link and using the Save As option. Monkey_Hair_Hide.mp3
