WHERE'S THE MONEY, RONNIE? - (1st edition)
(June 1994) - Written by Shane Meadows
Ronnie is a debt collector.. He's out to collect £1000 pounds
from Ronnie who owes it to Ronnie.. Ronnie can't afford the full
debt, but he says he can get Ronnie £400 from his mate (Ronnie)
to hold off Ronnie for a bit longer.. But can Ronnie get this
£400 or will Ronnie have to cut off one of Ronnie's wife's
fingers?
If that all sounds confusing, then matters are not made any clearer
by the fact that Shane plays all the parts himself!. Each character
is distinguished by having a different form of headgear (although
Scottish Jimmy simply has a checked shirt perched on his head!).
"Where's the Money, Ronnie?" is actually a mini-series
split into three parts.. In part one Ronnie (the collector) confronts
Ronnie (the debtor) about the money he owes.. He's owed Ronnie
(the big boss) £400 for six weeks now, and at an interest
rate of £100 a week, the debt has grown to a full £1000!.
In part two, Ronnie (the collector) visits Ronnie (the mate of
debtor Ronnie who has his £400) and teaches him a lesson
when he gets a bit lippy.
In part three, Ronnie's cousin Jimmy (that's the Ronnie that has
the £400) hears about what's happened to Ronnie (the debtor's
mate) and comes down from Scotland to sort it all out.
